Notice of Nominations Received, Day of Election and Hui-A-Moriori

Notice is given by the Trustees of the Hokotehi Moriori Trust (HMT) that the following
persons have been nominated as candidates for the office of trustee to the Hokotehi
Moriori Trust. All candidate nominations have been accepted by the Trustees pursuant to
clauses 5.22 to 5.29 of the Hokotehi Moriori Trust Deed of Trust.

Rēkohu (2 vacancies):
LANAUZE, Thomas Henry
PENI, Tremayne
SOLOMON, Cassidy
SOLOMON, Maui Ashley
SOLOMON, Rana


North Island (1 vacancy):
ALLEN, Kushla
HAPI, Kodi
LANAUZE, Ryan
TAURIMA, Chas Karauria


South Island (1 vacancy):
HARVEY, Christine
SOLOMON, Paul

As there are more candidates than there are vacancies to be filled, an election will be held between the above listed candidates, pursuant to clause 13.9 of the HMT Deed, which allows members of HMT to vote by postal ballot or attendance at the Hui-a-Moriori.


NOTICE OF RESOLUTION
Included with the voting papers, all eligible adult members will also be able to vote by resolution on proposed changes to the Hokotehi Moriori Trust Deed. Proposed changes are outlined in an information booklet which will be included in the voting pack posted to all eligible adult members. Click here to view document.


ISSUE OF VOTING PAPERS
Voting papers will be posted to all eligible adult members of the Hokotehi Moriori Trust from Tuesday 27 September 2022.


RETURN OF VOTING PAPERS
Voting papers must be returned not later than 5pm Friday 28 October 2022 to the Returning Officer, Hokotehi Moriori Trust. Voting papers can be returned by post in the ReplyPaid envelope supplied or hand delivered to the Returning Officer (being voting in person) at the Hui-a-Moriori to be held at The Novotel Christchurch, 52 Cathedral Square, Christchurch, at 10am on Saturday 29 October 2022.


NOTICE OF HUI-A-MORIORI
A Hui-a-Moriori of the Hokotehi Moriori Trust is to be held at The Novotel Christchurch, 52 Cathedral Square, Christchurch on Saturday 29 October 2022 at 10am. Matters to be discussed are as follows:

  1. Welcome
  2. Apologies
  3. Presentation on Proposed Changes to the Hokotehi Moriori Trust Deed
  4. Presentation of audited financial statements for HMT for the 12-month period ending 30 June 2022
  5. Completion of voting in person for trustees for HMT for Rēkohu, North Island and the South Island and the announcement by the independent Returning Officer of the results (based on postal voting and voting in person)
  6. Any General Business (notice of any matters to be raised under General Business is to be given to the
    Trustees at least 7 days prior to the Hui-a-Moriori).
