Members are invited to a ceremony to mark the return of 300 kōimi tchakat from the Natural History Museum, London and New Zealand domestic museums.
This is a monumental occasion for Moriori, and your presence would be deeply welcomed.

RUN OF EVENTS: 7.15am Arrival
All hūnau to gather at Te Papa staff entrance via the carpark. From there, those hūnau able to carry crates will go to the wāhi tchap.Other hūnau will be guided to the marae, Rongamaraeroa.
8.00am Pōwhiri and hokomaurāhiri11.45am Hokomaurāhiri concludes with a meal
1.30pm Blessing of the refreshed Moriori Exhibition.

We would like to welcome as many hūnau as possible to join us. Depending on the numbers, Hokotehi Moriori Trust may partially cover travel costs. However, accommodation costs are at the member’s own expense. Rangata Matua costs are covered in full.
