By becoming a registered member of Hokotehi Moriori Trust, you will help us build a register that will constitute hokopapa (genealogical) links for future generations of members and their hūnau.

CRITERIA FOR MEMBERSHIP:
To become a registered member of Hokotehi Moriori Trust, you must:
Be aged eighteen years or over
Be able to trace your hokopapa (genealogy) to a Moriori karāpuna (ancestor).
MEMBERSHIP PROCESS
A person wishing to become a registered trust member must fill out a membership form and submit it to office@kopinga.co.nz.
Once an application is received, it is reviewed by the Hokopapa Unit for verification against our hokopapa criteria. Applications are then presented to the Hokotehi Moriori Trust board with supporting information provided by the Hokopapa Unit for approval. Once an application is approved, the office will notify the applicant in writing of their acceptance as a member of the Trust, alongside their registration number.
If an application does not meet the criteria for approval, the office will notify the applicant in writing, stating the reasons for non-verification and giving that person the opportunity to provide additional information supporting their application.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
All written and oral information provided to the Trust to become a member shall be treated in the strictest confidence in keeping with the Privacy Act 1993.
